Green house effect

Green house effect

Solar energy is very important for all the living beings on the earth. However, about thirty percent of the sunlight will be deflected by outer atmosphere and are scattered into the space. The rest of the energy will reach the surface of the planet and reflected upwards like a slow moving energy types, which is known as infrared radiation.

The heat that is produced by the infrared radiation is basically absorbed by the greenhouse gases. Some of these green house gases include water vapor, methane, and ozone as well as by carbon dioxide. The will also slow the escape of the heat form the atmosphere.

Even though the greenhouse gases will make up only one percent atmosphere of the earth, they are capable of regulating the climate as they will trap the heat and hold it like a warm-air blanket, which will surround the earth. This phenomenon is basically known as the greenhouse effect. Most of the scientists are also working on this topic as they are looking for more answers from it. According to the studies, most of the scientists estimate that the temperature of the Earth will go less than fifty four degrees Fahrenheit (approximately thirty degrees Celsius) with out this process. This is very hard to sustain on the earth with this temperature.

How Can Humans Contribute to Greenhouse Effect?

As the greenhouse effect is very important for the life on Earth, it is very important to hold it and act against to save it. There are many things each one us can do. If each individual will act against this, you will be able to make Earth as a real green house. Below mentioned are some of the factors that you have to consider:

- Burning coal, natural gas, and oil:

Most of the people are aware of the effects of the Carbon dioxide. By burning more oil, coal and natural gas, you are releasing more Carbon Dioxide onto the environment.

- Farming Practices:

There are some farming practices, which will increase the levels of the nitrous oxide and methane in the environment.

- Industrial Gases:

The gases that are released by the factories will last for long time in the nature. This will not occur naturally. This is also contributing greatly to the global warming.

- Deforestation:

This is one of the main causes, which are contributing to the global warming. Even though many people are not giving much importance to this, it can cause many problems in the future.
